I am 63, a lesbian, and was an anti-war activist during the Vietnam War. I'm also against the wars in Iraq and Afganistan. BUT, I will walk along side any gay or lesbian member of the military for their right to serve their country openly. Personally, I wouldn't go overseas and participate in a war until this country repealed DADT. What if every gay member of all the services came out on the same day and said, "OK, now what"?

I'm 64, filed my first tax return when I was 15, sent nieces and nephews to college, volunteered, donated, served, and to my nation I am beneath contempt. I never thought I'd be so outraged at our mistreatment this late in life, but my fury just grows. Thank you for this gentle and eloquent film. It does more than I could ever do to demonstrate our dignity, and it throws a lot of gasoline on my fire.

I have spent nearly 60 years with same sex attraction. I am unmoved by the film, unmoved by the emotions, saddened by the delusions of men and women who think homosexuality is ok and who have chosen to live our these inclinations they have toward their own sex. I don't hate these folks. I am one myself. I just believe that the way is to deal with this disorder as one might any impairement and not become resigned to this fantasy life called 'gay.' there is no venom in my view. There is much experience in my view.

I was so moved by this film. Thank you very much for producing and making it. It really helps in a quiet and persistent way to make the case for the absurdity and cruelty of DADT. The film was lyrical and beautiful, while elucidating the ramifications of such a wrong and unethical policy. The fact that the subjects' faces had to be obscured just makes that point even more poignantly. Is there some way to get this film to the attention of the Dept. of Defense? Anyway, thank you again for this excellent short film which was obviously made with care and creativity. I really appreciate it.

I joined the Air Force as an officer in 1979. I was surprised by the backward thinking. I remember being asked if I was homosexual at the recruiting office in Los Angeles. I happen to be heterosexual, but the question was asked as if homosexuality were a mental disorder. I worked at Cape Canaveral, Florida. I remember a civil service engineer saying he didn't want the Equal Rights Amendment to pass because he didn't want "queers" teaching his children. He couldn't get away with a comment like that in a private company.

I am a 68 year old gay man who had a partner for 42 years until his death in 2006. We both served honorably in the military in the 50s and 60s. The DADT policy is absurd and damaging to our national security and to gay and lesbian families. We absolutely must fight this policy with everything we have until it is repealed.
