New Directions provides a wide variety of services for homeless veterans, including job training and placement, parenting and money management classes, legal and financial assistance, counseling, remedial education and resources for alumni.. Such a transformation takes hard work, motivation and accountability, but the results are life-altering - and for many veterans, life-saving. New Directions is a licensed, long-term drug and alcohol treatment program founded by three formerly homeless veterans. It has provided food, shelter, and rehabilitation since 1992 and provides services to more than 800 homeless veterans a year through four locations.

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD), also known as Vietnam Veterans of San Diego, is dedicated to extending assistance to needy and homeless veterans of all wars and eras and their families by providing housing, food, clothing, substance abuse recovery and mental health counseling, job training and job search assistance. We believe in the inherent worth of each and every Veteran and his or her right to a rehabilitation program which leads to renewed self-worth and independent living.
We offer a wide variety of services to Veterans, including Residential Services, Non-Residential Services, and Employment & Training. We also sponsor an annual Stand Down, which directly brings much needed essential services to a large group of Veterans.
